Project Description:
I’m creating a web browser in VB .NET similar to IE 8 and I need help in the following sections.
1. Bookmarks
a) I want the bookmark option similar to IE 8 i.e it should add url in the favorites, able to create new folder and save the url etc. All URLs must be able to open in either new tab or window on right click.
b) Browser must also have menu item to export bookmarks and import bookmarks from IE, Fireforx, Chrome and Safari
2. Open link in new window or new tab
Once you open the site in the web browser, user must be able to open the link in either new tab or new window. It is observed that the link usually opens in the IE instead of the same .NET web browser. For example, when you go on google page on web browser and tries to open link in new window, it opens in IE not the web browser itself.
3. History
Browser must be able to store history of visited websites based on dates. Must also be able to “expand” or “delete” on right click. Please refer IE 8 browser for more info.
4. Cache Clear and Deleting Browsing History
a) On menu item click, it should open the form and give options to choose to clear “temporary internet files”, “cookies”, “history”, “Form data”, “Passwords” similar to IE 8.
b) Give the option to select all and delete.
c) Option for clearing cache, cookies and browsing history on exit of the browser.
5. Auto complete
When user types in text box or combo box of address bar, it should complete the url from the history of earlier visited web pages.
6. Drop down combo box
When someone clicks the drop down, it should show the top 5 visited websites, 5 top History and 5 top Favorite websites. Similarly to IE 8
7. Google, Bing, AOL, Twitter, Facebook search
Google, Bing, AOL, Twitter, Facebook search options alongwith text box or combo box, similar to FireFox
8. Zoom in & out web browser
Need the two buttons – for zoom in & out for enlarging web browser size and vice versa. You will define the % for zoom in and out.
Zoom in & out should also work on “CTR+” and “CTR-“ and “CTR+Mouse”
9. Closing multiple tabs and windows
a) While closing multiple opened tabs, it should give the alert the message “do you want to close all tabs or current tab” and then options for “close all tabs” or “close current tab” and then work as the button is clicked.
b) When many web browser windows are opened then only current window should be closed on “exit” or closing the form. The complete application should not shut down.
Be flexible in accepting couple of inquiries addition to anything mentioned above.
You will provide me all codes.
Milestone – You will need to create task # 2 “Open link in new window or new tab” and show me in exe file so that I can understand your level of expertise in VB.Net and then 100% milestone will be arranged.
