Dear Sir/Madam This project is for someone who has experience in developing ‘navigation buttons’ in Visual Basic for PowerPoint (2002) presentations. All of my presentations (over 100) contain animated sequences, many of which contain sound files. These presentations contain basic buttons; one of which is to pause the presentation when an animated sequence is running. The sound files are ‘embedded’ into the PowerPoint file as this is the only way they can be easily distributed and I do not want to have linked files. THE PROBLEM When the animated sequence starts, the sound file starts and when the pause button is pressed the animation pauses and the sound stops. However, when the animated sequence is started again (by pressing the pause button) the sound file starts from its starting position and not from the point when it was paused. When the sound file is ‘linked’ to the PowerPoint presentation, this does not happen. However, as mentioned, I want the sound files to be ‘embedded’ and not ‘linked’. I have searched the internet and have found some forums where people have been asking the same question but with no solution. Therefore, if anyone is able to solve this problem I suspect that there could be a lot more work from other people. THE SOLUTION I would like to have a blank template into which I can paste my presentations and I attach a copy of the one I am currently using (button template.ppt). I do not wish to do anything more than re-insert the sound files into each presentation as there are so many of them and I do not wish to make any changes to the visual basic code each time I do this (unless it is easy to do so). ATTACHED FILES I attach a typical PowerPoint presentation with an embedded sound file along with the blank template: Forces05.ppt button template.ppt ADDITIONAL WORK Following this I will post another job for some additional buttons that I would like but my requirements will depend upon the outcome of this request. Should you wish to give a quotation for this work, please make sure that you are certain that it is possible for you to do and that it is possible to do so in the 2002 version of PowerPoint. I hope that the problem and what is required is easy to understand but I appreciate that the solution may be difficult. I DO APOLOGISE, BUT I AM NOT PREPARED TO MAKE ANY MILESTONE PAYMENTS AS I HAVE LOST A LOT OF MONEY THIS WAY. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THE DEVELOPERS HAVE BEEN DISHONEST BUT JUST THAT THEY HAVE NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD THE PROBLEM. Unfortunately, you will just have to trust me in the same way that people are trusted on eBay, for example. As I would like additional work from Freelancer, I do not wish to have any negative comments to be made about my honesty. If you are interested, please let me know if there is anything you do not understand. Yours faithfully Richard Tyler
