I require an experienced asp.net programmer to develop a simple application based on a database schema I have. I would like a deployable web application utilizing VB.net. The application should generate simple procedures for tasks based on user input.
The Application must be able to talk to an access database (any database really), and iterate through questions that are stored on the database dynamically, so basically the application will ask users questions and fill out a table based on this input.
The database schema is split up into 5 separate tables
This table holds basic data on equipment / Items that are standard in the workshop. A user selects items on this table, for example
1. Drill repair
2. Motor oil change
3. Tyre change
This table holds all the logic for each piece of equipment in the Equipment table, say for example we have a drill that needs to be repaired, the Equipment table will hold the drill press as an item, and the EquipmentLogic table will hold all the different logical questions involved with this repair.
Using the drill as an example, if the user selects a drill to repair, the EquipmentLogic table holds all the questions involved that a user will be asked, for example
1. What type of drill?
2. Is the service tag out of date?
3. Is there damage to the drill?
Holds all the variables for the EquipmentLogic table, say someone wants to repair a drill, and the first question in the equipmentLogic table is ‘what type of drill?’ the conditions table holds all the variables relating to this item for example. This table contains a field ‘tasks’ which if true, needs to generate or insert items into from the ‘steps’ table to the ‘compiled steps’ table.
Lastly there is a steps table, which contains logical steps for completing a certain condition, say for example if hammer drill is selected, the steps table holds all the data involved with repair of the hammer drill
1. Power down
2. Take off case
3. Check gearing for wear replace if necessary
4. Check hammer for clearance and wear
The compiled steps table lists all the steps from the steps table, so this will contain the compiled steps from the equipmentLogic table.
If you have any queries or suggestions, please contact me, the database attached is an example of what I've come up with, if you have better / easier methods, I'm open to suggestions.
