I posted this before but was requesting an application to do the data extraction. I no longer want the application, just the data. Here is what the project entails....
There is an application called AutoQuotes ( http://www.aqnet.com ) it pulls up restaurant equipment current list prices, images, descriptions, dimensions, weight, specs, specification sheets, etc. I have the data files (they are in MDB format.. i.e. MS Access Databases) The information is stored in what it calls 'long binary data' , the images, the pdfs, and the text data fields. I need the data extracted from those databases and stored as follows:
1) Text information stored in an excel spreadhseet, the rows that I need on the spreadsheet I showed an example of and attached the file below.
2) Image data needs to be saved to a folder. The images need to be saved as the products model number and in jpg format. For example, a True TBB-2-G is a product in the database and the image should be saved as TBB-2-G.jpg , that won't be hard because right now the images are pulled up in the autoquotes program as, for example the True product would be TruTBB-2-G, so you just need to remove the manufacturers partial name from the beginning of the filename. The program FileBoss can do that automatically once you have all the images saved.
3) The cutsheets (product spec sheets in PDF) are also stored in that 'long binary data' format in the MDB files. Same as above the PDFs need to be saved with the model number as the name, for example the 'True manufacturing Co.' item from above would be saved as TBB-2-G.pdf (and just like the images the autoquotes program already stores the data as TruTBB-2-G.pdf so you would just need to remove the shortened manufacturer name from the files after you have them saved. Once again the 'FileBoss' application that you can download for free can do that automatically so that won't be hard.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a simple 'open the MDB with some data conversion software and convert it to excel format' , if it was that simple I would do it myself. You can look at one of the MDB files at this link: http://www.jaxdevil.com/projgl57 , the file is password protected, PM me for the password. I uploaded also an image of the programs window that shows the fields I need to extract from the database. So you can see those fields and the sample Excel spreadsheet I made with the rows the sheet will have to have, and looking at those and then one of the actual MDB files (at the link above) should give you all the information you need to decide the rate for this project and the time you will need.
Payment will be made via GAF escrow as soon as bid is accepted, and funds will be released upon completion and successful testing of excel data, image files, and pdf files.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: The Excel sample I attached contains many rows, there are items that do not use all those rows, and some that use rows that are not on that spreadhseet. Simply add rows if there are more available rows for different items (for example a stove will not have the 'refrigeration field' so leave it blank of course, but it will probably have another field like 'gas or electric' or 'electrical configuration' etc.
