I am developing an extremely simple one template page website to publish my comic strips on. This is a just a hobby website. All it does is display one comic (black and white drawn comic image) per page, and allows navigation through subsequent comics via four links (FIrst, Previous, Next, Last) and list of comics as hyperlinks. It also allows basic comments to be added for each comic.
I have put together the initial mock up which is completely functional (I can provide a screenshot to bidders as a guideline if it helps), but I would like to hire a designer to do a better job. The design is so simple that I imagine the main thing is to choose a colour scheme and polish it up and perhaps some textures/gradients. I particularly like matte colours and minimal, slick, futuristic, digital style, often dark gray (but not necessarily) and I often like bevelled/raised surfaces (I'd like to try and keep the effect of the white comic section looking slightly impressed/debossed - but perhaps this effect could be done better). Even though I like minimal/matte, I figure because it's a comic strip, a small splash of colour/flair on top of that would look nice.
