Update of design / visual layout of www.prettygreen.me The website is going through a complete update (upgrading to Ruby 3) and needs a fresher and more intuitive look.

Prettygreen is a forum for all of us who cares to do the right thing for ourselves and the planet – but without a sacred lifted finger. We are here to make the green game fun, convenient, affordable and down-to-earth. Everyone can post their ideas on the site.
Login and posts will in the new version be easily shared on social forums. (Implementation of Open ID shared logins, and facebook Share and Like.
Elements:
Logo shape I like. But I dont have the original file so cannot use the exact shape. Would like to have the color and the organic feeling integrated more on the site.
Font: Kenyan Coffee. Can be changed.
Design tasks:
Top
The new site will not have a top menubar with tabs. We need a graphical fresh layout of the top witch needs to include the logo or somehow shapes from the logo and name. Must stay in a fresh green color palette.
When user is not logged in the login options will be shown as on u4.png in the top right corner. When user is logged in the site must show user details and option to link to ‘my profile’
Menu / Right column
We will introduce a right column menu where users can:
Search (in all content) field.
Links/Icons to follow on Twitter and Facebook page
3. Easily browse post by category (Perhaps category menu items like the ones we have on the top of the site today e.g. Eat, Going out, Grow your own, Tip, Recipes. Can also include a tag cloud. These menu items are categories with different topics and should act as a naviagtion & inspiration for other ideas to look for. As a library, to show the users what other sections of the sites we have. That there is a lot of content and perhaps in areas where a user wouldnt expect to find green tips.
4. Needs to include a 300x250 banner (and not 120 x 600 sky as there is now) and thereby have a wider right column.
5. Should include thumbnails for ‘most popular’ posts or ‘Featured’ posts modified into the column format. e,g, like the facebook ads you see in the right column
6. An archive of older posts per months e.g.
January (78 posts)
December (54 posts)
November (90) posts
(the current links to About, Contact, etc can be moved to the bottom of the page and doesnt need to be included in the right bar menu).
List of posts
Design needs to include how new posts appear on the ‘Recent list’ including example of a post with images as thumbnails. (define style sheet with fonts, colors and icons if any). Recent list will only show e.g. title and first 3 lines of post text.
Other users can comment from the recent list in a field which will expand underneath. User can click ‘I Like” and share (select media).
We will introduce Gravatars so Post will be showed with User image.
Include any lines, dots, icons or space for separation of posts and comments.
Show post
A user can click a post from the list and view it in full text and right comments. Loading on a new page. See u1.png
Posting
User can now post their ideas via an input field in the top as most users know it from facebook. Form will expand as you write. If you include a link the site will load thumbnail and headline from URL.
Design needs to include placement of fields, buttons and links. See screenshot u3.png and u5.png.
