Im currently looking for the creation of a Desktop app, similar to steam in the sense that it will be connected to a database where users would log-in and a set of "mods" would be present. Unlike steam it wont be a browser reflecting a website, but more like something entirely software based with all the content managed by a backend panel of some kind (although we could create a website if you believe this is the best alternative)
The main distinction is the fact that this app will be just focused on a 1 particular game, and its mods. Once logged in, they should be able to browse in a similar way steam works, (download steam platform if you dont know what Im talking about) and get access to the mods by clicking a button where they get a description. Its much better to talk into detail (which I dont want to expose here so much). But basically its like Steam but simpler, not as complex.
A big part of the puzzle has already been developed, its written in Java with full source code and it performs and important part that this desktop tool should combine to work with, this tools makes an installation of each mod on the background (placing content on folders). You dont necessarilly need Java for coding the whole project, but at least being able to combine it which shouldnt be too hard.
It will have a backend panel to monitor the app and control certaid displays like ads/ feautured mods and so on. I could send you a document with more informationa bout it
