Transfer my Joomla based Website from Ausweb Hosting to MelbourneIT Hosting and test.
The details:
Access to the CPanel on the Ausweb host to extract backups of my website files including the Joomla structure and database (using phpMyAdmin) is available. Ausweb is running Linux with the 1.5.9 version of Joomla.
MelbourneIT runs its own hosting control panel on a FreeBSD (Unix) host. The host is setup to install Joomla 1.5.20 after MySQL is configured. PHP versions match though the collation used in the databases between the two system may be different. Impact of the latter is undetermined.
The restoration process for the backup from Ausweb onto the MelbourneIT file space hasn't been tested. As long as the phpMyAdmin function can be used with the MySQL installation on the MelbourneIT host, the import from the Ausweb backup should be possible.
You may require me to notify MelbourneIT that we need their system admin support to correctly configure MySQL.
