i constructed a draft photography portfolio website using a squarespace template. there are currently four image galleries, some with square images and some images with a 3:2 aspect ratio (35mm photo images). the squarespace site is close to what i want, but it resizes my images, so that portrait-oriented 35mm images render much smaller than landscape-oriented 35mm images. i'd like you to either: 1) use code (css or html?) to adjust the squarespace template so that the images render with a desired image size, or 2) build a website using the template as a guide, with the desired image size.
i've been advised by a developer that building a website like this requires a very basic template, and i am trying to achieve a minimal and classic photography portfolio style (name at top left, navigation pane with links down left side, images in large pane on right, white background, a few gallery pages plus an about (bio) and/or contact page). i have basic html skills, so when the site is complete, i'd like to have control over image edits / updates so that i can add, remove or edit a gallery on my own.
thanks for considering, and i look forward to working with you-
