Building an eCommerce Business

Project Description:
We want to create an eCommerce business infrastructure basically like how amazon.com might be running. The business should have a network hierarchy as follows:

Internet: The internet site will be where the public/users log on to make purchases of products/services with shopping carts by using online payment systems such as credit cards and debit cards.

Extranet: The extranet will be a secure private network where external partners such as business partners, suppliers, key customers, employees etc, for exchanging data and applications and sharing information and can access the information they need 24 hours a day. It will basically serve as an interface between the company and its partners. The extranet will be responsible for storing online order, order tracking and inventory management, making documents available online to trading partners and special customers, enabling collaboration between business partners. It should also allow remote and mobile staff of the company to access core business information 24 hours a day, irrespective of location. This should be implemented using a content management software (cms) such as Joomla.

Intranet: The intranet will be accessible to the company's shareholders and employees for delivering information and business news as directories and web documents, viewing, printing and working collaboratively on office documents such as spreadsheets, accessing and delivering various types of e-learning/training to employees, workflow - automating a range of administrative processes, integrating intranet content with email services so that information can be distributed effectively.
