A fast-growing church desires an ultra-modern WordPress - based Website that will welcome people looking for a home church, as well as assist people already attending the church to get to know what ministries, activities and resource material are available to them. The overall design will be light, airy, exciting and fresh, with a prominent flash banner featuring on the Home page.
The site will be optimised for multi-channel communication amongst the church, existing members, new members, and non-members. Communication optimisation will include facilities for live chats, podcasts, blogs, subscriptions to publications, as well as integration to the most popular social networking media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
The site will also have placeholders for high-lighting church events and special programs. Aside from the Contact Us form, the site will have a number of structured ‘Decision Forms’, which users can fill and send special requests in to the church. The design will also incorporate a very snazzy, intelligent and expressive year calendar where all the events for 2010 can be detailed. The user will be able to request that the calendar sends an email reminder when the event is approaching.
Website will also be configured to include the following modules:
Banner Management Module
The Banner Management Module will offer the Administrator the ability to manage (add/delete) all static and dynamic banners that are placed at different locations within the website. It must be possible to upload a number of banners in advance of a date and once a set date is reached banners are removed and replaced accordingly. Site design should incorporate Google banner ad management.
News and Articles Management Module
The News and Articles Management Module will offer the Administrator the ability to manage newsworthy articles and publish/unpublish them on the website. The Administrator from the News Module is able to add/ edit/ delete records consisting of: Title, Date, Summary, Full article, and Images (if required). The headline can be presented on the home page and is linked through to the News Section whereupon the visitor is presented with a short summary on each article. Choosing one of the articles presents the full article with a link to return to the news section.
Video Management Module
The Video Management Module will allow the Administrator to categorize and manage (add/delete) video files and publish/unpublish them on the website. The Administrator from this Module is able to add/ edit/ delete video clip information consisting of: Speaker, Title, Date, Summary (if required), and Image. Video Clip of the Day can be presented on the home page and is linked through to the Video Section whereupon the visitor is given the ability to watch the featured video clip, as well as presented with a listing of all other videos according to category. Choosing one of the video clips presents the full video message which plays in the Video Section.
The Ministry Module will offer the Administrator the ability to create a Section listing short summaries of all the Ministries, with hyperlinks beneath each short summary. Clicking on any of these links will take the visitor to the main page of the Ministry, whereupon the visitor is presented with a short summary of articles and other information relating to that Ministry. Choosing one of the articles presents the full article with a link to return to that Ministry’s main page. The module will allow the Administrator to manage articles and information specific to the activities of each Ministry, and publish/unpublish them on the page of each Ministry on the website.
The Blog Module will allow the Administrator to manage full featured multi-threaded blog sessions on the website. The Administrator will be able to manage (add/categorize/delete) users, grant access permissions, as well as monitor blog transcripts and history. The module will prevent direct publishing to the website and will allow Administrator to appoint blog moderators.
Image Management Module
The Image Management Module will allow the Administrator to create, categorize and manage (add/delete) image files into named photo albums, and publish/unpublish them for creative viewing on the website in the photography section/page. The Administrator from this Module is able to add/ edit/ delete image information consisting of caption and date (if required).
The Calendar Module will be a robust feature-rich application which will allow the Administrator to post and maintain event information and schedules on the website. It will come with daily, weekly, monthly and annual views, and will be able to send reminders to interested visitors to the site; such reminders will require registration by the visitors.
Social Networking Module
The Social Networking Module will allow visitors to the site to forward all content (articles, images, links, pages, etc) on the site to their social networks via Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Live!, MySpace, Squidoo, etc.
