Project Description:
I require an Interface to be written, Tested and installed to replace our currently software BasePage 2000.
I have limited knowledge of what is required, I know that in the system setup for BasePage 2000, they have Pagers Setup with Cap Codes
( that identifies the Pager it sending to )
When Registering a Technician for a site, they assign a Pager that is responsible for up to 1000 Jobs.
When Base PC Receives information from the Server, it may receive a code for 0164 this is then matched to a corresponding code and then might send out via the Antenna 0002 as the location to attend.
Very Basic Description of how it works is as follows;
Server PC = Already Installed, No Work by Freelancer Required.
Base PC = Windows Machine that Requires Freelancer to design Application Interface for.
I need the application to run on a Windows Desktop Machine, Windows XP Windows 7 Windows 8
This PC that you would be responsible creating this interface program for; would be connected to another PC via a Serial RS232 Connection.
i.e Com Port to Com Port Connection.
Server
Send information to Base PC via RS232, it receives this information that looks like this;
08:53:05.218 Generic in (gaming) Rx: 0164aN
08:53:36.937 Generic in (gaming) Rx: 0164aF
itter (POCSAG) Tx: P
08:51:40.203 Transmitter (POCSAG) Tx: |zzzzzzzzzzg-}tE|t\n Czzzzzzzzzzzzz
08:51:40.421 Transmitter (POCSAG) Tx: E
08:51:40.421 Transmitter (POCSAG) Rx: 0
08:51:40.750 Transmitter (POCSAG) Tx: E
08:51:40.750 Transmitter (POCSAG) Rx: 1
08:51:41.968 Transmitter (POCSAG) Tx: S0T1S0T1
I know that aN=on and aF=off
other than that I am not sure what the other information is.
What is it used for ?
The Server PC in this case is sending a request to a Pager via the Paging Antenna, it Send the aN to Schedule a technician to attend to a service request, then after the service is completed, it send the aF to turn the request off.
We have a Webpage style interface currently that displays a queue of service requests
Once on Job is completed another job will then send to the Pager.
We use a Matrix to design what codes are received then which corresponding code needs to be send out.
There is Two Paging Antennas, One is Connected Via RS232 Serial Port that receives all Paging Request, then matches it against the Matrix and would send to the appropriate antenna, i.e either the RS232 or a IP connected Antenna.
See the following links for the Antenna Models

I need an Expert in Software design, that can View our current installation and gather the required information.
Settings such as Com ports etc, needs to have a setup screen to alter when required, a Matrix to assign technicians,
A Self Installation Package, with Uninstaller. A configuration Backup and Restore Utility inside to Program
