I'm completely new to this, so bear with me please. I'm looking to build a completely autonomous rover that I can deploy in the desert region of Southern CA, similar to the Mars Rover from NASA, and have it roam a specified area to look for gold using a metal detector. I have identified several key components that I'd like to use and have listed them below. I believe this is going to be fairly complicated project. If you think you can handle, then let me know. I think I can handle the hardware build with your guidance. Let me know your thoughts on project price. I'd consider paying hourly as well.

Navigate obstacles a defined area
Record path covered and logging
Detect and record flag gold and other targets identified by metal detector using sweeping pattern from rotating metal detector on back of Gears SMP platform.
Grid out boundaries with geofencing and navigation using Ardu Mission Planner described above.
Be Autonomous and communicate via cellular network
