We are a small company releasing our first game for mobile devices.
This job is development/complete redesign of the company website. It's primary function is to provide information about our game, also the company blog and the company info/contact page.
We have a company logo developed already and the necessary graphics/video for the game.
The current implementation of the site is hosted on a wordpress friendly hosting provider and is ready to be demolished and resurrected.
Here is the full job description:
This will be the initial version of the website for our company. It needs to contain the company branding (logo provided)
It will have the following sections (pages):
the game web page
the blog page
the About Us page
The game web pages will contain:
game description (text provided)
game screenshots gallery (screenshots provided)
game trailer (provided)
links to app stores with appropriate icons (Apple Store, Microsoft, Google Play)
The page's main goal is to efficiently demonstrate the game and have a quick way to buy the game
We've reviewed a few gaming websites. The one that caught our attention is halfbrick, for instance: http://www.halfbrick.com/our-games/jetpack-joyride/ - that page has the appstore link (i.e. customer can quickly buy the game), the description, the game's graphics and video, and it is in harmony with the halfbrick's branding. The page is not crowded - it has "tabs", but we would like to see the trailer as part of the main tab. Perhaps the one thing it's missing maybe is the Facebook "like" button? Please take it as is - we liked it, but it doesn't mean we need a replica of it. We'll take anything that's great or awesome. :)
The blog page. Simple, well chosen font, fitting the overall site feel. We haven't decided yet if we want to enable comments (this can be easily turned on/off in Wordpress?) We will need sharing buttons available on each post. Would be nice, but not required, if the articles got automatically announced on Twitter.
The About Us page will contain minimal text (provided) and the contact us form, perhaps protected with captcha (optionally). Like the Blog page, it needs to have good font for text.
- the website needs to be SEO friendly
- easily shareable (Facebook "like", "shaer", Twitter etc)
- no Flash Movies or other extravaganza like that, but we will consider something sophisticated
- relatively simple, but elegant
- the game page needs to be attractive, but not overly flashy or "toy-ish"
