Project Description:
I need to create a mobile app interface (iPhone and Andriod) for my web based application. The mobile apps will pull from and submit data to the mysql database used for my web based CakePHP application.
The interface and functionality of the web application is already established and is running live as a Beta. The mobile apps will be a stripped down version in terms of functionality. Not all the functionality available through the web based interface will be required for the mobile app.
The basic concept is that it is a social enterprise 2.0 app for a specific sector. The database stores the relationships between users, and communications between users. The application has rules for how relationships are established, and how users can communicate. The application also has an advertising tool.
The mobile interface will submit data through forms to the web application which will produce the same results as if the person were using the web app. The mobile interface will pull the information produced by the web app and display it in the mobile interface.
The mobile app needs to be able to check periodically (manually our automatically) sync for new information regardless of the person opening the app. The app will need to alert the user of new information as it comes available.
Basically if you can convert a cakephp website interface into an iphone or android application, that is what I need.
The web app will not know a difference between who is using the website and who is using the iphone application.
