2. iPad Features
2.1 The iPad app will use “Tabs” to select between Job, timesheet and PDF function. This will work similarly to the iPad Clock app, which is part of the standard software suite.
2.2. When the iPad Load button is touched, staff.xml and settings.xml will be imported to support the new timesheet functionality.
2.3. A new view will support entry of timesheet data. The view will default to the last employee timesheet updated and display their timesheet data for the last week. An “Employee” button will allow selection of a different employee. Timesheet entries can be edited and deleted. An “Add” button will display a pop-up to enter the details of a new timesheet entry. This pop-up will allow selection of job, time-code and hours, which are saved as a new row to the timesheet view.
2.4 The iPad will save employee timesheet.xml to drop box when the “Save” button is pressed or when the user navigates away from the timesheet view. If an employee timesheet.xml is missing, it will be created.
2.5 A new view will support opening PDF documents. The view will display a list of PDF files saved to drop box. The location of the PDF files is determined by a new iLabour setting on the iPad called “PDF Folder”. When a document is selected, a pop-up called “Open In” will list other iPad applications that can open the PDF for editing. Once selected iLabour will run as a background task and the PDF will be opened using the new app. (e.g. PDF Expert).
