Project Description:
Web page with 2 fields:Mobile Number: The application should be able to check that the mobile number starts with predefined 2 first numbers and that the mobile number is of a predefined length.
Text: Text field should be max 160 characters with a counter counting down from 160.
Ability to connect and send SMS to a separate SMS-gateway using SMPP 3.4. I will provide basic API Specification.
Web login user and PW connected to a SMPP user and PW that is used when connecting to a SMS-gateway. One SMPP User and PW can be used for several web login and PWs.
Multiple web logins at a time.
Installation and testing on a web server should be included.
JSP is preferred but suggestions are always welcome.
Please state hourly rates for additional work.
I would prefer to pay a monthly fee for a hosted service but a one-time fee is also a solution.
I would like to have this service available within 2 weeks.

Hello.
Unfortunaly I discovered this project too late, so now I can't place a bid on it...
But I want to say, that other offers are a bit overpriced.
SMPP is a quite simple protocol and your application has very basic functionality (user management, basic messaging (not even multipart messages), delivery status).
Actually, I have smpp/java (and jsp) expirience, so I can implement this application for you in 4 (four) days of coding, so we can spent enough time on deployment and testing. Only $750 (including deployment on your server and lifetime support (bugfixes, small features)).
I have no spare dedicated servers for now, but if you strongly prefer hosted solutions, I can rent one specially for you and take care of it.

For the service, we used NowSMS (www.nowsms.com/) which is a SMS Gateway and we used SMPPSim (http://www.seleniumsoftware.com/) to test the connection with the SMPP before using the live version. For test purposes, we also used USB Modem coupled with a SIM card to send the SMS.
