Mobile Application - Roaming Control
Looking to design a mobile application for roaming control of mobile networks when abroad. Application shall be downloaded and run on as many mobile platforms as possible. Nokia Symbian S60 3rd Edition is requested. Sony Ericsson non UIQ models is a big plus.
Mobile application shall scan available mobile networks.
If not home mobile network, it shall check in the parameter setting
which network it shall roam with.
Example: If you have T-Systems Germany and when you go to Denmark you have access to roaming to four networks but you want to lock the roaming to only one TDC UMTS 2100 because of lower tarifs.
Web Logic
Customer registers Mobile, device type, home Mobile Country Code (MCC) and home Mobile Network Code (MNC). Should be possible to run as separate webpage and to integrate this into external webpages.
Some form of download procedure – maybe SMS to phone with customer download link
Mobile Application Logic
App shall scan available MCC + MNC on intervall parameter (every minute / hour / day). If not home then check in parameter list for preferred MCC + MNC and select accordingly.
App shall have parameter for network band and be able to control so mobile registered in set network band(s).
App shall be able to work in different mode: 1) Auto select 2) Advice about networks and ask user to select.
Update of parameter list in app must be controlled from server seamless to user via gprs or umts data.
Option to run the app hidden to the user in background.
