Project Summary;
To scrape market date for Canadian Toronto stock exchange listed mining companies from Google finance into Excel format.

Project Expected outcomes;
1. Have data formatted and scraped from Google finance into an excel spreadsheet xls or xlsx format
2. Have the information that was pulled from Google to be updateable, either by (any); opening the spreadsheet, a shortcut, a ctrl shift F5 command.
3. The ability to add a new stock ticker to the spreadsheet and have the spreadsheet add the code or commands need to parse data from Google automatically.
4. Have all the fields working that are currently in the example spreadsheet (6 updateable fields.)
5. Have at least 70% of the companies update- not all companies have full Google finance listings, that is acceptable.
6. Completed on budget.
7. Use no outside programs or paid for software, in order to get the data (end-user)

Only use Google finance to get data.

NOTE: Google can format the URL differently, such as;
http://finance.google.ca/finance?q=TSE%3AAGU

http://finance.google.ca/finance?q=CVE:EGD
This means that the “CVE” is the Toronto stock exchange venture (like a junior market like London’s AIM)
(on page 2 of excel spreadsheet included)

If it is useful some of the tickers can be put together – A column plus F column = correct Google format for URL.
If you have a better way, you can delete the A column for the final spreadsheet.
