Hi,I am a graphic designer and this project is beyond my capabilities. I'm looking for someone who has very good english and an ability to communicate with a designer.
There are probably other aspects to this that I have not considered, so I would prefer that bidders have some experience in this that can be demonstrated. eg. you send me a link where i can see how your preferred system works. Also, I work on a mac, so your system will need to be mac friendly.
My client has approx 250 members in their club. Club members pay an annual fee for membership. Included in this membership is access to a restricted webpage which contains a link to a journal. Each member needs to be given their own username/password to access the restricted page, and the club needs to be able to switch off the access if the users membership lapses. So if the users membership lapses, either access is turned off manually or ideally automatically, and attempted entry is rejected with a message such as 'membership may have lapsed - please contact club administrators'. Club has no existing database. It would be nice if the database could email the club as well to let them know perhaps 30 days before memberships expire.

I apologize if my brief was not 100% clear but it's only my first job post. However, some of you don't seem to have read the brief because you have asked questions that have already been answered. I have some favorite bidders already [and they are all less than $500] but i'd like to give everyone the opportunity to respond based on some additional info I'll give you below.
And I'd like simple responses which detail..
a] technology which will be used.
b] a point list of what functions will be available to the user and admin [now]
c] a point list of what functions will be available to the user and admin [later]
Additional info..
Memberships are currently manually entered into an excel spreadsheet so no online database exists.
[now] The client has only asked for the ability to provide individual access for it's members and the ability to switch on/off membership so thats all i want to give them at this stage. obviously this should include reminder emails and a message that expired membership users should contact club admin.
[later] if i can have something that can be expanded in the future to include a 'become a member' page with an online payment option then i would be very happy [club admin may need to check the validity of the member before accepting payment]. That way i can offer that to the client as a separate job [which you would activate]. Perhaps they might wait up to a year before they take up the offer but as it would fully automate memberships - i think they would go for it for sure - and sooner rather than later.

Thank you to all bidders. I've recieved bids from some excellent programmers and I'd like to let you all know why i chose who I did..
1. Bidder demonstrated a project similar to mine which was of very good quality.
2. The code appeared to be well commented.
3. Reviews suggested good commenting was helpful.
4. Knowledge of cpanelx
6. Experience with credit card payment systems
7. Good english
It was a difficult choice and price was not the decider. I hope to work with some of you in the future.

I feel as though the best technology to be used would be PHP and MySQL. Easiest way is to add an auth.php which will check for the session status of the user to see which type of member they are and if they are logged in. Let me know if you require further details.

How are the memberships currently handled, as in the payment?
Would it be fine if when membership payment is received the administrators input the date the membership will expire into a form?
