Project Description:
We are a non profit currently strugling with data management issue.We need a database in Excel or Access, with the normal fields on contact details, membership fees and services subscribed, but we need to add to this some other fields not so common.
We need to have a call form where we can measure the lenght of the calls the members and prospects do. Maybe a button can be added that would measure the time elapsed between the initial click and the final click.
Also, we need some fields regarding financial information, like income, assets, monthly expenses, etc.
These fields will generate simple formulas that need to be displayed inside the forms where information is added.
That is, when the person is on the phone with a contact, it must be able to insert the monthly expenses in loans and immediatly see how that ammount relates to the montly income, for example.
The project is to be done in Excel but must have a data entry form, maybe with multiple pages, much like Access.
It can be done in Access too, if easier as well as Open Office.

I can help you get this using VB.net.
I can interface a excel file to the software and you can get what you need in the cells of excel by using this software. I use excel to show the output of the software depending on the choice, client chooses.
I use acess as database.

Here is a sample prototype program developed in MS Access.
Try it out and let me know what you would like to add, remove, or adjust.
Once you enter the "Calls" tab, the call date and call time are automatically entered, but not yet saved to the database until you double click inside the field "End of Call Time"; call duration is then calculated.
Please note that the program trial period ends on April 6th, 2010 and will no longer work.

Greetings joaocbm,
Just a bit of advice... you will get better results (more suitable software, with sleeker interfaces, greater performance, stability etc) if you encourage the use of Visual Basic or VB.NET within the project. This way, an executable file and a database file can interact without Access 2007 or any other dependencies at all which is much simpler! Additionally the functions available in Visual Basic as opposed to VBScript which Office uses is much greater.
Just a word of advice there for you!
