Project Description:
We are a small lab specializing in visual anthropology. In January, 2009 we published a technique for determining how viewers could rate any icon [photo, graphic, motion picture, video, or even a word or phrase] based on the additive primary color system known as RGB as follows:
Red = Imperial [political or religious upbringing]
Green = Primal [genetic and "gut" feelings]
Blue = Commercial [market based values]
We presented the concept to AT&T as our idea for a data gathering application on how a given population "feels" about the icon based on selecting a single color.
The application we call "PIC-RGB" opens with a viewing of any icon. The viewer double touches/clicks on the icon to enter their vote on how they feel. A split screen appears with the icon still visible and a color wheel. The person touches the color on the wheel that they feel best expresses the Primal/Imperial/Commercial essence of the icon. As soon as they touch/click a color the RGB values [0-255] are shown and they can scroll the individual RGB values to "fine tune" their feeling.
When they are finished they press Submit and the RGB values are transmitted to our data center, using a simple Tweet, where they are tallied. Display of the average color for any voting population can be embedded in the icon as a single pixel in a known location [for example the bottom right corner of the icon].
We were recently informed by AT&T that we were finalists in their Mobile Application competition and that we would be required to demo the application on a mobile device as part of our final presentation at the upcoming CTIA convention in Las Vegas.
We are visual anthropologists, not computer coders, so we need immediate help getting this application to be viewable by March 21, 2010. That's only one week away!
We will pay an honorarium for the freelancer who wins the bid and they will be credited for their work and receive 10% of the gross proceeds from development of this concept. Sweet!
