Thrifty Display Campaign Brief March May 2010

Formats Needed
728x90 – leaderboard
300x250 – MPU Island
468x60 – Banner.
We need both a .SWF and .GIF file for each ad format. The .SWF will be the animated ad. Usually if not always built in flash. The .GIF acts as a back up and is required by the site for each ad size.
The length should be no longer than 20 sec. The ad can loop indefinitely. Each landing page needs to open in a new tab/window. None of the ads should feature any element that could be problematic to epileptics.
The exact same content does not have to be like for like replicated across the formats but the theme should be consistent. Obviously a 728x90 and 300x250 are very different sizes and so might need presenting in a slightly different way but the theme/creative idea should be consistent. Also with the 468x60, it is a limited space so it’s important the text isn’t reduced beyond readability etc.
The landing page is not confirmed and we will send on.

Campaign Content
We are promoting/selling our long-term rental offering on boards.ie. The key Points that we are pushing are:
1. No loan necessary
2. No maintenance costs (VRT, NCT, Road Tax)
3. 24 breakdown service
4. Month to month rentals
5. Upgrade or down size
6. Availability Nationwide
7. Fleet management
By long-term renting as opposed buying customers can drive a new car without forking out thousands to purchase one. We are running in the MOTOR SECTION and BARGAIN ALERTS so the ads should be tailored to these audiences.
Placement
This is going to be placed on the motoring and bargain alerts forums on boards.ie.
- Motoring section contains threads on general driving topics, car problems, tax and buying cars. It is an eclectic mixture of topics.
- Bargain alerts is a forum where people post bargains they have found and can cover any topic at all. The ad here should tie in with bargain theme.
We cannot use the term leasing in any capacity.
We rent all types of vehicles from Ford Focus to Citroen Berlingo to Commercial 4x4 to Ford Transit. If we could feature all types of vehicle somehow that would be great. We have quality images of all these we can send on.


Creative Idea
The general idea is that somebody looking to buy a car is presented with a new option, to rent a car for a set cost per month and no long-term commitments. The freedom to upgrade downgrade as needed is a key selling point.
So possibly the new rental car driving through the old car and the associated problems leaving the happy customer in a newer rental car.
This is only due to run on boards.ie so if you have an idea to incorporate the surroundings of the page let me know. Assuming you are aware of boards.ie you will know that the island is always bottom, banner always top and leaderboard always in between posts.
Needs a strong call to action of course.
