Design of low cost power supply 230V 50Hz AC to 12V 100mA DC
Project ID:
693356
Project Type:
Fixed
Budget:
$30-$250 USD
Project Description:
We have everything ready in our project except power supply circuitry. Currently we use step down transformer (along with bridge rectifier and capacitor) for conversion from 230V 50Hz AC to 12V 100mA DC. But it is costly and bulky. So we want to replace it with less costly and light-weight circuit. 12V DC output would be used by IC 4060, IC 4002, relay and LED. So protections like over-current protection, over-power protection etc. should be taken into account only if necessary since cost of components is a major concern. Output may also contain some amount of ripple provided IC and relay works fine. Cost of manufacturing should be as low as possible.
We want:
1. Circuit diagram of power supply circuitry suitable for our application.
2. Bill of material so that we can order components ourselves and assemble according to circuit diagram.
We don’t want:
1. PCB layout or gerber file. We will make that at our end.
Note:
This type of power supply circuitry (along with enclosure and cable) is sold in Indian market in retail in Rs.30 (USD 0.6). A picture of such product is attached. But we cannot reverse-engineer this product and take it because its output is 5V and transformer details is not written on it. I think it is a switching power supply.

Thank you for the link but we want circuit diagram of the power supply so that we can put it along with other components on a single PCB and manufacture complete product in bulk quantity.

I would not mind designing you a simply power supply, but this looks like something you could use. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TXUU98/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1DC50Q5ZET9083ERV4H4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
