Instruction:

Requirements – ACCA/Oxford Brookes University Project

1. Research and Analysis Project
- Total not more than 6500 words (has to be more than 5500 words). Has been advised to split this into
~ Introduction and research approach : up to 1000 words
~ Information gathering: up to 1500words (including your introduction)
~ Analysis, results and conclusions: up to 4000 words
There is no set minimum number of words

~ To include a reference list and cited it within the project correctly. (use Havard reference system)
~ There must be evidence use of spreadsheet and/or IT within the project. (spreadsheet formulae should be included)
~ If there is a use of questionnaire as a means of gathering data, it has to be included as results as well as a sample questionnaire in an Appendix.
~ To include the relevant pages of the company’s financial statements (if necessary) – copies of relevant sections are adequate
~ For topic 8, it has to used a comparator for ratios of another company or industrial averages in the work.
(In order to achieve a pass grade – one must pass the following four learning outcomes:
• Critically evaluate accounting concepts and principles and their application in solutions to practical accounting problems)
• Select and apply appropriate accounting and financial management techniques to organizational business planning, decision-making and control.
• Solve problems through the identification of key issues, synthesis of information and analytical tools, and the presentation and critical evalutation of a range of options
• Communicate analysis of accounting and financial information and recommendations to a variety of different audiences.
2. Skills and Learning Statement
- Total not more than 2000 words (has to be more than 1800 words)
- Have to cover these 4 questions
~ What did you learn from the meetings with your project mentor, including the presentation that you gave to your project mentor?
~ How well do you think that you have answered your research question(s)?
~ How have you demonstrated your interpersonal and communication skills during the project work?
~ How has undertaking the RAP (Research and Analysis Project) helped you in you accountancy studies and/or current employment role?

The company to be researched on is Olam International.

As for the competitor, you can use Cargill or Noble group.

Ideally, I would prefer Noble group as it has listed in Singapore. Same as Olam International.
