Project Description:
I want to put together an itinery of the most economical way (both with time and in monetary terms to travel across the United States from West to East taking in as many places of interest as possible.However, I do not want to overload the person on the sights they can see so I am looking for a comprehensive tour with a fair amount of downtime also.
The journey will start from LA in the month of August - they will land at LAX and finish the tour in Newark, New Jersey.

There are about 7 major destinations on the sector you mention. What are the components of the itinerary and what kind of a word length are you considering for the complete document.
10,000 words is what I consider ideal to make it a useful guide and itinerary.

I've lived in the US for all of my 25 years, including extended periods of time in Georgia, California, New York, and Massachusetts. I travel frequently for work (I logged 90,000 miles in flight in 2009). This past month, I drove across the country. I'm familiar with the discount airlines, buses, trains, car shares, and couchsurfer. Plus, I'm an MIT-trained urban planner, so I've seen these areas with an eye for design and planning. I'd like some more information, but I'm confident that I can put together a reasonably-paced itinerary to see as much of the USA as possible (and cheaply) in two days.
