Project Description:

Our instance running Debian Linux running on Amazon EC2 has been hacked and we help locking down the instance per Amazon’s guidelines and detecting any script or malware that have infected the instance and delete the harmful file(s). Below is a link to a whitepaper from Amazon on how to lock down their instances. I am looking for a resource that has experience with Amazon EC2 security and with general Linux security that can implement the suggestions outlined in the whitepaper.

    I have been working with Amazon for the past 6 months in the EC2 environment. Please let us know what kind of hacking or system compromise has happened? What kind of system services/components are affected due to the system compromise?
