Wordpress redirecting error

MY wordpress blog is current 3.0.1 but for some reason the homepage redirects to the latest post?I have a feeling it's the theme but not sure.... Need someone to debug the site to figure out why it is doing this.
The settings are to show the latest 5 posts on the homepage but this is not happening...
Wordpress expert needed, I know this is a quick fix, but not very php/wordpress savvy
