Project goal: To design two (2) game apps for young children, designed for the purpose of psychological experiments.
Both games should launch an opening screen with a "Play" button and a data entry point that allows experimenters to type in a new user or to choose an existing user. Both apps have spoken instructions. Sounds or spoken words will play upon touching or interacting with objects on the screen. Each trial in the first game will start by having the user touch an object on the screen. Then, there will be a series of "moving" of objects across the screen. Finally, the user is to choose (by touch) one of the two objects. The second game is basically a jigsaw puzzle game in which the difficulty (# of pieces) increases after successful completion of one puzzle.
Importantly, in both of these games, data about the trial parameters (e.g. # of items in the first game or # of pieces in the second game), playing start & end time, user's choices (in the first game), etc should be recorded after each trial. This can be in text format, and should be able to retrieve it easily from the iPad (perhaps the best if it sends the data via email automatically after each play).
A non-disclosure agreement should be signed before work starts
