Project Description:
I have a few servers. Some servers generate large hourly data files. Another server cluster runs an online java application. Some servers need to be setup with operating system on them. I need one expert PERL programmer expert and linux system admin (same person) to1. write/modify PERL code to periodically parse data from files at different servers, and store results into mysql db at the server cluster. The mysql db is accessed by a JAVA online application running in the server cluster.
2. Setup the necessary core software on new servers such as Apache, Jetty/Glassfish/Tomcat, nginx, haproxy, and multiserver load balancing. Ensure proper functionality of web servers. maximize "number of requests per second" and other parameters on the server cluster (running JAVA).
3. Provide maintenance/operational instructions.
You must have proven experience with configuring server clusters, load balancing, high traffic benchmarking, and PERL programming.

Can do the Perl part, 1-2 days for $30.
Either command line access to database (DB) or DBI/DBD are required.
From experience, command line is much faster ( less overhead ) and the DB engine optimizes the queries better.over 2 years ago
