Project Description:
I am looking for someone to create me a windows-based application that will do the following.1. Allow me to start a skype call from an IR (Infrared) remote control. This is so I can attach a pc and webcam to my television, and make a skype call, without needing my mouse/keyboard.
I would connect a USB-to-IR convertor to my pc, to allow it to receive IR signals from a remote control.
The software would be be programmed to understand that a keypress on the remote should launch skype, and then dial a specific person.
For example,
I press button 1 and it calls person A
I press button 2 and it calls person B
I press button 3 and it calls person C
2. I also need to be able to allow the remote control to accept/terminate any incoming skype calls.
You should have experience with IR (Infrared) technologies to successfully develop this project.
Preference will be given to anyone who can provide a working demo…… If you create a demo, please state the equipment required (USB adaptor/remote control) , although we would expect the software to allow us to use any standard remote control once we offer the software the correct manufacturer IR codes.

As a side note, we could even couple this system to your pre-existing remote controls to streamline the usability of the implementation.
