  When a project is offering too low prices or a substantially marked up price, bidders
  should be cautious.
  Fellow writers who have been apparently scamed are equally at fault because they were
  parties to dealing with the project owner through decitful methods particularly when
  the project is still wide open.
  The first comment on this board was never answered and that should have alerted others.
  Genuine service buyers will always respond to legit queries.
  
  Stick to the TOS and keep your antena raised all the time.

  I have been SCAMMED by Pam from Australia. I did 10 artciles of 500 words for Pam on Physician Assistants. I have been emailing her about payment everyday for the past 2 weeks and she has not responded. Indeed, she responded to me promptly in giving me my assignments and responding to project queries, but nothing on payment. I warn you, don't work for Pam, she is a scammer. How can we take action against her? This is gross injustice on this provider's behalf, and has left a bad taste in my mouth.

  I am another victim of Pam's scam. I did the same project Travel Insurance Australia. She asked me for 5 articles but I wrote three and submitted. How did you get in touch with her. Because she never replied to my emails after the submission. I gave her the benefit of doubt that maybe she is not well or something but has been 10 days she didn't have the decency to reply. She was so promptly returning our mails when when she was assigning the projects. I strongly opine that we should take some action on this person. I wish I had paid attention to what Pristinewriting was saying about the feasibility of the bid.The whole experience demoralized me as I am a just beginning my freelancer.com career.

  The project owner has done the same with me as she did with Kate1950. She made me write 5 articles and never paid for them. She gave excuses like having funds transferred on to her account etc and was supposed to pay up yesterday, which she has not. The project was probably a scam and all of us have been played with. The articles she made me write were on Travel Insurance in Australia.

  This project owner contacted me and asked for 5 articles. I wrote and submitted the requested articles, and was supposed to receive payment on Friday, Sept. 10. After repeated emails to the owner, she informed me that she had been sick and would send payment once the articles were reviewed. Nothing as of Sept. 14th. Another email with no results. Hopefully, no one else is as naive as I was. This project sounds too good to be true, as it probably is.

  1. Budget min from $5000 to $30-250. This is essential because when you award the project, a 10% upfront fee applies to both the project owner and the service provider. $500 in upfront fee is not something that either party can enjoy.
  2. Professionals can take more interest in your project when you provide some more details like the particular niche or niches that interest you, turn around and other business details.
