Project Description:
ASP.NET Hand-Coded ETL

The project consists on the implementation of a .NET solution in which users upload documents (txt, csv and xlsx) with a pre-defined structure. Uploaded data must be loaded through a mini hand coded ETL process to populate a fact table hosted in SQL Azure.
There are 15 different files with closely similar structures containing data of products being sold in different stores. Files are uploaded by the users generally on a weekly basis.
Each file has many columns but only 5 columns contains valuable data that must be loaded DIRECTLY into an SQL Azure Table, which is a fact table used for reporting.
Files must be securely stored and deleted after migration is completed.
A cross check of missing products must be created for data loaded into the DB. If a new product code is found on the uploaded file, this row of new information must be added into the product table.
A form is required to complete information about the missing product. JQuery must be used to create an autocomplete so population of the information is eased using data located in the product table from the SQL Azure Database.
This ASP.NET solution needs to be developed in Visual Basic.
Users must be able to Sign-up/Login through a secure protocol.
This project has a big growth potential for future developments.

Skills required:
.NET, Azure, jQuery / Prototype, SQL, Visual Basic
