Project ID:
791863
Project Type:
Fixed
Budget:
$30-$250 USD
Project Description:
I need to have a sports news website built, specifically for an English football team. All the contents of the website will need to be exported through feeds from other websites which offer live RSS feeds.
Essentially the website will be a news aggregator in WordPress format.
I want to be able to insert Google Ads.
The site should contain the following pages:
-Home (an aggregation of main news articles, tables, etc)
-News (all imported news)
-Roster (a version of this: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/squad?id=359&cc=5901)
-Fixtures (a version of this: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/results?id=359&cc=5901)
-Standings (a version of this: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/stats?id=359&cc=5901)
-About Us (I will insert text)
-Contact Us (should contain a form where the user can send an email directly to me)
Each page should contain Google Ads
All in all, here’s what I want delivered from the winning bidder of this project:
- You will design and build a site that fetches RSS feeds automatically, in real time, and posts them accordingly to my website.
- I will be able to make edits to the posts.
- I will be able to add new pages to the website
- I will be able to manage RSS feeds and add/edit/delete them through some kind of console or control panel.
- You will incorporate Google Ads and help with SEO
- You will incorporate dynamic tables to the site (standings, roster, etc., see project description), which will update in real time (whenever they're updated in the source).
- Accommodate any minor special requests that I may have. By minor I mean things such as adding a Facebook 'Like' plug-in, a Twitter plugin that shows the latest posts, adding a tag cloud, etc.
- Add a static 'About Us' page with a simple text description, and a Contact Us page with a form that can be filled out.
- Provide support after the project is complete in case I have questions.
To start with, here are some of the sources that I want integrated into the website. Each new post in the RSS feed should roll up in the website as a title with an intro text (one paragraph) and a thumbnail of the picture. Then the user clicks on it, and reads the full article and views the picture too (if there is one)
From there they should be able to do the following:
-Vote on the article whether they like it (thumbs up sign)
-Leave Comments
-Share through facebook, etc.
Main sources (there may be a couple more):
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/arsenal/index.html.xml
http://www.goal.com/en/feeds/team-news?id=94&fmt=rss
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/arsenal/rss
http://feeds.arsenal.com/arsenal-news
http://syndication.soccerway.com/rss/english.php
Roster, Calendar, Standings (dynamic tables):
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team?id=359&cc=5901
I will send a mockup of the homepage and a logo to serious bidders that I will consider.
I plan to expand the site in the future with more features, so if you’re committed to a long-term relationship, that will benefit both of us.
