Project Description:

Need four illustrations, the primary purpose of which is to be used on a several pages of my website. They'll also be used for merchandising, promotions, etc. The site works in several themes: 1) dating/romance; 2) politics; 3) Washington, dc (the market the site is focusing on); and 4) fun/party -as we are hosting live events (happy hours, speed dating, cocktails, booze cruises, club events, etc.) in conjunction with the site. The illustrations should work in a number (if not all) of the themes together.

Illustrator will have wide artistic license to decide how these should be done (for instance what style they are done in) so long as they follow the general guidelines I set forth, are professional, and look “top of the line.” The illustrations should be fun, light hearted, cool, young (i.e. catering to a crowd 22 yrs old to 40 yrs old), hip, modern and high end. The theme throughout the illustrations is anthropomorphized animals (namely elephants and donkeys) in romantic, fun situations in front of DC-centric settings.

As far as the shape, size, and placement on the site of these illustrations, we’ll work with you, providing you with wireframes so you know the parameters. Illustration 1 will appear on the top of every page, illustrations 2-4 will appear on different pages and be the only illustration on a given page.

Here are the descriptions of the illustrations we’re looking for.

1) The first illustration is for the main landing page as well as every other page - it’ll go between my logo and an election countdown meter at the top of each page (see wireframes). This is probably the most important illustration as it will be the first thing everyone sees when they come to our site, will appear on every page, and will work its way into our merchandise, promotions, and advertising. I am open to ideas on theme and content, but I was thinking of two anthropomorphized animals (a female donkey and a male elephant, sweetly kissing and instead of stars above their heads (like in cartoons, when they get hit with something) perhaps some hearts - going for fun, romantic, light hearted, but not too cheesy or corny.

2) Second Illustration – a strong male elephant, dressed in suit and tie, flirting with slight, pretty elephant female, in sun dress (longish skirt - Google for ideas), wearing pearls - with some sort of DC monument in back ground - I'm thinking capital building.

3) Third illustration – a hip, metro, cool looking donkey male talking to a sexy hip donkey female, at a corner coffee shop/book store/live music type joint, sitting outside, coffee's in front of them, book on table, name of coffee shop in background (think young, hip, cool, urban).
4) Fourth illustration - this time donkey is male - dressed in casual clothes (khaki shorts, polo shirt), he should be good build but nothing too big, talking to pretty female elephant, sitting on the lawn of the National Mall, having a picnic, Washington Monument in background.

Decent budget, but looking for affordability here. Looking for turnaround of a couple weeks.
