Project Description:

We are searching for a Widget guru to build a portal that allows users to register and then customize their own widget (including skin) and content within parameters that we set. The content will include a mix of each user's own data in predefined frames/locations, presented via text blocks, graphics and sortable lists, as well as optional external content such as weather, news feeds and ad banners. Widgets will need some buttons or tabs in order to switch to certain content. Widget should also include a countdown timer option to/since a nominated date.

A detailed knowledge of ad serving is also required.

Grab widget sharing functionality over common social media platforms should be included.

Functionality must obviously comply with the highest standards (including speed and robustness) and very importantly, simply put, Widget must look GREAT!

Please confirm you are capable of developing the complete portal (i.e. registration engine, content database etc). Users should be able to login and create/edit their own data (which includes tables, graphics, links to external news/weather/sports feeds, google maps etc).

We are open to whether the portal is developed using environments such as Wordpress, Joomla etc, as long as it is popular, well supported and straightforward for us to take over maintenance if required.

Widgets must be cross platform (Win and Mac OS/Browsers) and extend to popular mobile devices (e.g. iPhone, Android, Nokia).

We need to be assured of ownership, hosting independence of all components, privacy, and widgets/site should contain no third party branding etc associated with your development work.

We will only consider responses from experienced widget developers who provide links to live samples of widgets that they have developed.

We will not accept applications from agencies promising solutions from contracting third party developers.
