Hi There. My name is Imran Bukhsh. I am Microsoft Certified in VB 6 and have been in the computer gaming indsutry as a programmer for the last one year. I'm well- versed with registering/unregistering dlls,ocx etc. I have bid this late cause as soon as I saw the project I started developing a Proof Of Concept prototype and thought that I would not bid until its complete. The prototype is READY, meaning this is technically very possible and I can do it for you. My Application uses three ways to find unused /redundant dlls/ocxs unlike applications which use just only one. My bid is low cause im new to the site and also cause this project doesnt require a lot of work. As for the interface I can make it as per your request or could come up with a good one of my own. The prototype is in VB. I choose VB so I could finish it fast for demonstration. This can be ported to Delphi if you require.  less

Hello softhouse, I have experience working with registry, DLLs etc. I can make it for you, but I see it some confused: What method is to use for search unused DLL’s or OCX’s? What we can offer to you: 1. Look at “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs” here is we can see “DLL path” and “Using counter” – so, if “Using counter” = 0 we can unregister it and delete. But it’s non affective way, because as usually almost all them used by system and have a counter more than 0. 2. We can scan registry and find all references to DLL’s (we can check path for this DLL and if it’s BAD we can remove registry entry/reference to this DLL). But unfortunately we don’t known if DLL will be used in future or not. 3. Look at Ashampoo (Ashampoo WinOptimizer Platinum Suite - http://www.ashampoo.com/frontend/products/php/product.php?idstring=0306) - “DLL Cleaner” module. We can make clone for you. It would scan hard drive(s) and look for DLL duplicates (check versions, sizes etc.) and prompt to user delete or not duplicates. 4. You can give me your opinion about finding unused DLL’s. You can give me URL or description to any existing software. I will clone it. Please specify Delphi version to develop (I prefer D7). Your spec asked for Delphi. I have not used Delphi but if you would be prepared to accept the same functionality coded in C++ I would be delighted to do it for you. To be honest, this strikes me as the kind of application you would normally write in C++ as it is well suited to "systems" type development and delivers the best performance. I have existing stock C++ classes I have written for registry manipulation because it comes up in just about any application of any consequence. less
