I have over 15 years development in C/C++/Assembly and have written a DXF viewer already (twice, actually). It is fairly complete for 2D, handles most AutoCAD entities (including splines and polylines), and allows panning and zooming. It is a "viewer", not an "editor". If you would like to use this as a base, please let me know. Writing this from scratch will be VERY time consuming because AutoDesk only supplies a brief description of the DXF format and the rest has to be reverse-engineered. I've already done most of this work, so you will most likely want to start with something already written. It is written in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 (no MFC) if that is ok.  less
