Fix CSS On Custom Web Page - Very Simple

Project Description:
I have a custom web page which I just haven't been able to get working right. It basically consists of a full page background image and a flash video plays in the top center of the page. I want to display links in the left column, keeping the video centered as it is. My css skills lacking, I've been unable to do so.The background image is primarily black, in gif format. The links would need to be white text and change color on mouseover.
The project consists of duplicating the page with proper, clean, html and a corresponding CSS style sheet. Text links would have to be added and visible in the left column.

You have an existing website that has a full page background image. There is a flash video centered towards the top of the page. You want to add a column of links on the left side of the page. You want this done with CSS. You want the links to highlight when hovered over and for the active link to remain highlighted.
I will take your existing page, modify html/xhtml/css as necessary so that it will accommodate the css required to create and position the link area on the left side of the page, and then create the html/xhtml/css needed to display the links you require.
Important: This quote assumes one level of links, i.e., no submenus. That would require more work and incur additional cost. less
