Project Description:

We would like to develop an ultra-modern professional-looking church website, driven entirely by a robust CMS (preferably Joomla), which will feature some of the very best online resources available today. The overall design will be light, airy, exciting and fresh, with information being updated automatically on the site every 5 minutes. The design will also creatively ensure that there is no scrolling required by the user as all pages will be designed to fit into the viewing screen.

The site will be optimised for two-way communication between the church on the one part, and existing members, new members, and non-members on the other part. Communication optimisation will include facilities for live chats, pod casts, video conferencing, blogs, subscriptions to publications, as well as integration to the most popular social networking media such as Facebook, Twitter, and U-Tube.

Sections of the website will be fed by XML and RSS feeds and the designer should have the ability to configure and display these feeds as an integral part of the information available on the website. The feeds will include images and text on news, sports, politics, finance, stocks, education, medicine, science and technology, Christian music, Christian events, and global issues.

The site will have Sections and Categories into which an unlimited number of articles can be created, published, printed, downloaded or forwarded via social networking media.

The church has an extensive branch network classified into Zones, and Areas, with each church branch belonging to a Zone and/or an Area. The site design should have a Network Management application that allows the administrator to create Zones, Areas and Branches. Admin should then be able to subsequently assign Areas to Zones, as well as assign Branches to an Area, or to a Zone.

There are Pastors who coordinate Zones (Zonal Coordinators), Pastors that coordinate Areas Area Coordinators), and Pastors that head branches (Branch Pastors). There are also Pastors who work within Zones, Areas and Branches but do not hold any title. The Network Management application will also allow the Administrator to assign Zonal Coordinators, Area Coordinators and Branch Pastors and ordinary Pastors to their respective locations. It will then have a user-friendly front end which enables a user to see and query the entire branch network of the church.

The website will also have a restricted Pastors' Section which only registered Pastors can access. The administrator should be able to register Pastors to use this section, as well as post articles and information bulletins in this section.

The site will also have placeholders for high-lighting church events and special programs. Aside from the Contact Us form, the site will have a number of structured ‘Decision Forms’, which users can fill and send special requests in to the church. The design should also incorporate a very snazzy, intelligent and expressive year calendar where all the events for 2010 can be detailed. The user should be able to request that the calendar sends an email reminder when the event is approaching.

The Homepage will have a unique flash banner. The site will also have a unique multimedia manager application incorporating a structured video archive library and an embedded multimedia player. Website will have a robust photography section; there will also be a search facility whereby the entire website can be searched.

The site will have a shopping cart which will enable users to pay for downloadable content as well as books and digital media. The payment platforms will include Visa, MasterCard, Interswitch and E-Tranzact. Developers who have no experience in integrating Interswitch and E-Tranzact payment platforms should please NOT bid on this project.
