Mainly working with Networking, Secure networking with SSL/TLS, Cryptography and some native programming to interact with the native apps.
Basically, the desktop shell that you had mentioned is possible for me to do. Though i've not done the same kind of app., i have expertise in doing a similar one.
And with the GIS, to be frank, I can't say that I'm an expert. But currently I'm working on some GIS stuff. So I'm sure that I can provide what you're looking for.
