Project Description:

Hi there,

I have regular jobs once every two months that need to be edited/proofread/rewritten. The files are my translations. I need native English professionals to work on my translations and make them good for native English readers. I have two partners to offer me this service already, but recently one of them is considering having a baby and can no longer work with me on tight timelines. Hence, I’m recruiting one more partner. Below are the details of the job.

Job Details:

1. Service needed: English editing/proofreading/re-writing
2. Content/Subject: golf (game reports, course introduction, player introduction), real estate (promotion), culture, food, wine, company profiles, spa, leisure and etc
3. Language style: well balanced between creativeness and accuaracy; if your writing style suits the America/Canada style, that would be preferred. But at the same time need to avoid any regional jargons.
4. Frequency of job: once every two months; sometimes there will be other ad hoc jobs too
5. Word count of each job: 5000 - 7000 words (word count of each file varies a lot)
6. Timeline: Usually I’ll send you 1 to 3 files a time and delivery is generally expected to be within 12 hours. If it’s a weekend, then there can be more time for work.
7. Delivery format: word documents with your changes tracked; comments added where necessary (to bring certain questions for my attention, etc)
8. Sometimes a limited amount of files will need you to work on it again, due to mis-understanding, etc. This is not expected to incur additional charge, please.
9. Some contents, e.g. golf reports, can have many resources online. It is not supposed to copy from any of these resources. If you need to rewrite some paragraphs and reference to these resources, you need to write in your own words.


Qualification of provider:
1. Native English speaker – English should be your first language (based in or relocated from US, Canada, England is preferred).
2. A diploma/degree in writing/English language is a plus.
3. Must have at least 3 years experience as an editor or writer.
4. A free trial of 300 words is needed. Please do not bid if you are not happy with free trials.
5. Please send your resume, indicating your current location and time zone.
6. Must be reachable from email or skype, most of the time. Quick response of availability is of high priority. (It’s good if you check your emails at least 3 times a day).
7. Must deliver jobs on time as requested.
8. Care to details: every single detail (spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence order, readability, logic, etc) in the source texts will be carefully and skillfully treated, ensuring the target copy is easy to understand and enjoyable to read.
9. Easy to communicate and work with, pro-active (e.g. communicate with me for any questions, mistakes found in the source files)

Payments & Others:
1. Payment will be made via paypal, so you must have a paypal account.
2. Payment will be made in 30 days upon completion of a job (i.e. the last file of the month is finished).
3. Provider has no right to disclose any of the job details or contents in the files. They are considered Proprietary and Confidential. Use of the files and contents in any ways without written permission from me is not allowed.

Please send necessary info required and your best rate (USDxx/English word) to me. The next project starts in mid October. The file for trial is attached. It contains 299 words for editing/re-writing, that cover 3 different areas. Please remember to track your changes.
