    I just did that for my phone.
    Blacklisting the IMEI# would make the phone a toy. But the IMEI# can be bought and IMEI# can be wiped out and replaced by new ones. This would make it unrecognisable for you.

    If it has already been stolen and you did not install any security application, then nothing can be done.
    Just report to the operator, so the IMEI gets black listed.

Dear Client We are a team of 8 people working in the Mobile Application devlopment Department of a Multinational Company. Mobile Application development for All Versions of Symbian OS from 9.0 ownward is our Speciality. This includes all Nokia and Sony Ericsson cellphones from 3rd & 5th Edition ownward. If we come to an agreement than your desired application will be delivered to you in 5days, after the agreement had taken place. Application will have the following specifications in it: Application will have 2 parts 1) Daemon Application part. 2) UI (User Interface) Application part. 1) The Daemon application part will run in the background with out any visibility to any user including the invisibility to the application icons in the Installed Applications Folder and will be able to do the following tasks: i) Send the GPS Coordinates to any (stored) mobile number when triggered. ii) Send the GPS coordinates on any FTP Server (File Transfer Protocol Server) in the world using a text File. iii)Send all personal Messages & Contacts in your Mobile phone to a FTP Server and than delete them from your cell phone including everything on your Memorycard. 2) The User Interface Application part will enable you to set different fields such as: i) An alternative mobile number on which you want to receive Location of your Stolen / Lost Mobile phone. ii) Address, Username & Password of an FTP Server where you would like the data (i.e. GPS Coordinates,Messages & Contacts) to be stored from your Stolen / Lost Mobile Phone. iii) We can also put an additional functionality of letting you check ur position on the Google Maps when ever you desire to. iv) Application will be Password Protected. Even though it is our first project on this platform however we are very experienced in the field of symbian application development and freelancing.
