Project Description:
THE IDEAWe want to build a website for shoppers that want to buy and receive items on the same day. They will enter their location (postcode) and we will show them appropriate local retailers on a Google Map and as search listings.
The shopper will be able to filter out irrelevant retailers by and refining the search criteria (by drilling down into Categories, Tags, Brand Names, etc).
We also want to create product pages, to allow shoppers to search for specific items, eg "iPhone 4".
YOU
We're looking for a Ruby wizard, preferably with experience of working with APIs (Google Maps, product feeds, Twitter, etc).
Experience of designing e-commerce sites (or working on affiliate sites) would be a good thing, though we know exactly what we need (it's just that we're unable to actually build it).
We also really need somebody with a good eye - UI / typography / page layout is really important for us (the site will be minimalist, functional, and hopefully beautiful).

You can check my most recent work here: http://feedsmash.com . In it I use RSS feeds, Google, Youtube and Twitter API's (the library I use for all Google services I wrote it myself). I did the design for this one too.
I also have experience with Google Maps but unfortunately that site is not up anymore. It was a one-page Ajax webapp where users could search for a house being sold in an area and then filter the results accordingly, which sounds a lot like what you ask for in the description.
