Make multilingual Drupal/Ubercart website

Project Description:

We are looking to translate to English a Drupal(6)/Ubercart(2) website already in production.
The website is a istockphoto like website, where more than 10.000 pictures can be purchased. It is currently in French and need to be translated to English.

Internalization module is already installed but our prelimanary tests shows some problems in the translation workflow.

NODES
The main issue is to translate correctly the Nodes : including taxonomy terms, catalog terms, path alias. We want to use the Translate node feature to add new translations, synchronizing some of the fields like the picture, taxonomy terms..
We need everything to be translated not to loose SEO efficiency : Breadcrumb, path alias, image description and alt...
We have done some premilary test and saw some problems that need to be addressed :
- Path alias : we use token to generate automatically a SEO-friendly URL including Catalog terms. The translation is not properly done and keeps the French terms instead of English.
- the SKU (ubercart) is not syncronized
- Image description

TAXONOMY
They seem to be only editable in the translate Interface section. However it is not very usable and we would like to offer a more intuitive interface to our client to update the terms.

CREATE INTERFACE TO EASE TRANSLATION PROCESS
The main requirement is that the site manager can see and manage easily the content left to translate. This aspect is really important as the content is big : about 10.000 nodes and 3500 taxonomy terms. We want to provide the site manager with an interface to ease the process of translating the content : node and taxonomy.

** IMPORTANT **
1. We rather using existing modules adding the required functionalities, than developping from scratch new modules
2. We prefere that changes on the website to be done through modules rather than directly through the UI interface.
3. We will require an invoice in English
