Virtual Production TeamI have been a DJ for 13 years.. and wanted to move toward producing music. (But don't have any experience) rather than spend 13 more years learning the ends and out of this genre, I thought about how cool it would be create a virtual team where we would create bounce ideas off each other and create a final project that could be sold.
I have also got an MBA and so have had a lot of success collaborating and building successful teams.
From the best bids. I will select a person to help select the other members of the team:
A small team of very talented people is my preference since that will allow more money to be shared. Based on how many people we need.
My goal would be create music initially for hip-hop and top 40.
I have a large collection of music. So I have a strong sense of what is commercially viable. I would use these tracks as a baseline. Use different instruments. Add musical elements for uniqueness and what is current in demand by pop culture.
I anticipate some amount of editing is going to be needed for studio recording so. Someone who has strong skills in the final part to completion will be needed, as I have no idea at this point.
The process in a nutshell. I throw out and idea. Filter it through great talents and minds. We filter it through a team and market it to the industry.

PAY AT THIS POINT: None until we start to work together and create sales. I am only willing to work with those who have vision and faith in their work to be commercially viable.
We will use SKYPE, and other virtual meeting tools. Since talent will come from around the world.
You will be working on the project as contractor so all outputs will be owned by newly created entity.

Are you saying that each member will receive an equal share of the copyright for each composition? I don't understand if your `contractor' is really part of the `entity'.over 1 year ago

I've been quite a huge music fan for years. I love all genres, and especially honest artwork. Honestly, purely musically, I can't provide much. As much as I love listening to music, I only have a little bit of experience with the piano. However, if you need a creative mind in other aspects of the project (album artwork, lyric writing, feedback on music, advertisement design, etc.+) I'm your girl. I believe in every form of art, and have been branching out especially to visual art and literature. My name is Tom Bailey and I'm a composer/producer/songwriter/multi instrumentalist from the UK. I have composed music for films, TV and videogames which have been broadcast and published worldwide. I have also worked on many hip hop albums, with some songs being featured in hip hop connection magazine. I am also a multi instrumentalist well versed in all styles of guitar, drums, bass, double bass, keyboard/piano, cello and vocals. I can provide creative input, as well as play most instruments commonly used (guitar, bass guitar, keys/synth, vocals). I can write and arrange vocal parts. Other instruments I play include all the brass (trumpet, French horn, etc). I have access to literally hundreds of musicians with skills in genres ranging from R&B and rap-rock (think Linkin Park) to neo-jam/hippie (think Phish or Moe) I also write/program drums/percussion.
I have been an active lyricist for over ten years and can deliver on this aspect of the creative process as well.
I do all of my own recording and producing in my home studio.
