Project Description:
Players race down a straight motorway, avoiding traffic and other obstacles. There are 4 lanes on each side of the road with a small verge in the middle (I imagined this would be mostly flat so as not to penalise the player for crossing it, but could sometimes have concrete barriers). There are certain elements which may introduce obstacles (or help) the players, and reduce or increase the flow of traffic.

The track will be continuously generated on the fly from a random selection of segments. The segments don't necessarily all have to be compatible with one another, but if they are not we need to be provided with a list of which pieces will and won't fit together.
Sections can be as short or as long as you like, but ideally should be integral in length (ie their lengths should always be whole numbers). This will avoid artefacts and glitching where two sections join.

Sections should also ideally include invisible named points which outline the path traffic should follow (assuming they don't change lanes, which is something I will introduce later)

I am planning on using a 2D physics engine for this game so all sections of the track should be totally flat height-wise (although we could simulate an incline by tipping the scenery in the background)

I am working at a scale of one unit per meter.
