Project Description:
3D design, analysis and manufacturing technology on the improvement of product quality and in reducing lead times for the total design and manufacturing process Be able to use creativity to establish and evaluate innovative solutions derived from customer requirements.
Assignment: Select a simple product that continually annoys you has one that does not perform its primary or secondary functions well! Identify the customer needs that the developers of this product did not consider. Select a potential product opportunity, this may be a new product or one that exists but fails to meet its customers needs Interview friends/colleagues/family etc to ascertain the customer needs ? Write a product Specification ? Bench mark existing products and alternate solutions ? Produce a range of Concepts (>5) ? Create selection matrix and rate concepts ? Recommend the best concept Your 3D design and validation section will comprise; ? Creation a 3D Model of your selected design ? Undertake comprehensive analysis of your product under several load scenarios AND make improvements to your original design and validate these improvements ? Write a report upon your the project to date
