Since I do not know the scope of the project, my initial bid is $500, but please be aware that my usual rate is $25 per hour, which is below market for a first rate technical writer. As senior technical writer for several firms I have become proficient with all the necessary tolls for both on line HTML and CHM help and printed manuals. My background in education and training, plus my degree in creative writing make me ideal for this kind of work, because I remember my audience and speak their language. The rate is extremely appropriate also, because I learn faster than most people, and get more done within the same time period. My deep IT knowledge simply accellerates the learning speed. I believe you and your end users will be extremely satisfied with my work. I recently finished two shorter user guides for on line portals, so I am quite up to speed at present. Since I have currently only two projects, one of which is long term, I have time to do what you need.
