DOC and PPT to PDF+Watermark via Linux Command Line

Project Description:

I use a shopping cart system to sell some eBook docs. The docs are both PPT (Powerpoint 2003) files and .DOC (Word 2003) files. I want to store "the most recent copies" of these docs on the server at all times. When someone makes a successful sale in my shopping cart, I want to send an "http post" to the server which will: Convert all PPTs and DOCs in the specified directory to PDF and at the same time WATERMARK THEM with the customer's NAME and COMPANY NAME (pulled from the API from the shopping cart.)

Then automatically stage them for "review" for my assistant in another "Output" folder (one unique folder name per buyer).

Once verified, my assistant will manually email them to the buyer.

Site is running RedHat with Joomla and we have full root access if necessary to install whatever script and tools you come up with.

Ideas: Install OpenOffice on the server, and use OpenOffice's API to automate the loading of the doc, the watermarking with the name, and outputting as PS and converting with 'ps2pdf' PDF.

Honestly, I don't care how you do it. But the point is that each customer should have ALL the docs with their name and company name watermaked in all DOC and PPT files as PDF output.

We use SVN on the server, so you should be able to use that for check/in change management. If you don't use SVN, then you'll need to supply your code to us for full testing.
